About Mike O'Brien Swim Instruction

Mike O’Brien Swim Instruction (MOSi) has been operating in Orange County since 1993. Mike began teaching swimming after watching his three-year old son learn to swim. A passion in teaching young children to be competent in the water inspired Mike to make a career change. Over the last 18 years, Mike has developed a strong reputation in Southern California strictly through word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied parents.

In developing the MOSi method^TM, Mike has drawn upon his experiences as an Olympic swimmer, swim coach and parent to refine his cognitive behavioral approach to teaching young swimmers. Parents are frequently amazed at Mike’s insight into their child’s motivations and his ability to teach even the most resistant child. Mike’s personal experience teaching over 12,000 swimmers has given him a remarkable ability to get the most out of every student in a short period of time.
